How We Met

A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away... what you don't believe me? Truthfully, we'd seen each other around the university long before we'd actually exchanged greetings. He was friends with a guy who was a year ahead of me in the program I was taking. His friend (who is now my friend and consequently our best man) was exceedingly annoying so I never really paid much attention to the guy who came in to sit with him (sorry Rob, you know I love ya now).

Anyway, flash forward to May 16, 2005: orientation day at Syncrude in Fort McMurray, Alberta. I think I was talking about something that specific to the program I was taking at university. Mike already knew there was another co-op student there so after I sat back down with the rest of the girls at my table, he came over and energetically introduced himself and shook my hand.

Then I took him to a movie with me and another friend... what was that movie? Star Wars Episode III: The Attack of the Sith. So technically... it was still in a galaxy far, far away. :)

Since then, we've been pretty much inseparable.
